My initial Remission thread on MDJunction was posted a few years ago and I am 10 years Lichen Planus free. I wanted to repost this thread because it is my hope that Lichen Planus sufferers will look into Christina's proven methods of treatment at The Indigo Center. I was biopsied and diagnosed with Lichen Planus Sarcoidosis 11 years ago. A dermatologist told me that this was a lifelong condition and that I would have periods of remission but that it would always return. Naturally, I went for a second and third opinion. All physicians recommended a steroid regimen. I was not convinced that this was the answer and visited an online forum where other Lichen Planus patients LOUDLY exclaimed that steroids are the WORST THING TO TREAT LICHEN PLANUS. It may relieve your symptoms....temporarily, but when you again come out of remission, it can attack with a vengeance. Naturally, I wanted to avoid this at all costs and knew that there had to be a CURE. I didn't want the symptoms treated...I wanted the disease itself to be treated. I contacted a friend from high school that opened a successful Oriental Medicine practice in Troy, Virginia, just outside of Charlottesville. She agreed to see me and I made a special trip from Michigan to the D.C. area and made the trip to see her. My friend's name is Christina Paxson and she is a licensed practitioner of Oriental Medicine and a licensed Dipl. Ac. LAc. (licensed physician of Acupuncture). She explained that the body reacts to your environment....stress, pollution, diet....things that we all are aware of. Conventional medicine will not treat you for buildup of these issues. Once stress and toxins build in the body, this creates the perfect environment to breed disease. It is common sense. The human body, once cleansed of toxins, will alkalize, which in turn, will kill infection and disease. No disease, no symptoms. I was desperate and asked for treatment. Since I was in town for a short visit, I had ONE acupuncture session. She also gave me a colon and liver cleanse. Back then, the cleanse was 30 days. Now, I believe it is two weeks. Christina warned me that a deep detox is unpleasant. I was very ill for three days and could see the results of the cleanse on my bedsheets. Not wanting to be too graphic but I really need you to understand how very sick I had been. A brown stain from the toxins that were being excreted through my sweat covered the sheets where my entire body was and I smelled like Formula 409. I had never experienced anything like this before. I had headaches, stomach cramping and severe diarrhea. I called Christina in a panic and she explained that Lichen Planus is a disease that thrives on stress and other environmental issues. Over the years, toxins had accumulated in my body and this disease was manifesting through the skin to give me a big red flag that I needed to make some serious life changes. Intense stomach cramps were my intestines clearing years of buildup. Once your intestines are clear, the rest of your body can receive proper nourishment and because the lymph nodes are clear from detox, the immune system no longer has blockages and can kick into high gear, allowing your body to do what is naturally allowed to do...heal itself of disease. Clean the body, make life changes to lower your stress, get rid of the disease. She also prescribed two Chinese herbs. I took droppers of these herbs daily in green tea for about a month as well. I believe one of the herbs was Dong Quai, but I cannot remember the second. They tasted bitter, but the most potent Chinese herbs cannot be purchased over the counter and can only be prescribed by a physician of Oriental Medicine. Along with the herbs, cleanse and acupuncture session, I used a cream also through Nature's Sunshine for the scarring left from the blisters. I wish I could give you the exact name, but I am unable to remember, but it is in a tiny jar. A little goes a long way. Put the cream on each blister to help remove the scarring. Within the first month after my visit to Christina, my symptoms and the disease began to recede. I have ZERO scarring and had a physician blatantly tell me that I did not have Lichen Planus because I would have the scarring to prove it. I explained that I was biopsied and it was over her head that the body can heal completely of such a disease. YOU CAN RID YOURSELF OF THIS DISEASE COMPLETELY and FOREVER. I have not only been Lichen Planus free for 10 years...I also have not had the flu in 9 years either. If I get a cold, it is for a day or two and it is never severe...just my body's way of telling me to slow down a bit. I avoid processed food and I also have an exercise regimen to keep my immune system working to it's full potential. Christina recommends a cleanse and an acupuncture session with every season change. That is four times per year. I honestly have not stuck to this regimen, but I do cleanse at least once per year with the Clean Start and have had random acupuncture sessions in between. If you wish to be treated by Christina personally, she is worth the trip. Her practice is the Indigo Center for Healing and the Creative Arts. http:// www.theindigocenter.com. You may be kind of weirded out by the whole Chinese Medicine philosophy, tongue diagnosis, etc...I know that I was, but it WORKED for me. The Chinese have been using these methods for 2,000 years so there must be something to it. I have sent friends with other severe medical conditions to her and they have experienced 100% success rate. One was cured of Ulcerated Colitis and it saved him from having his colon removed in his mid-twenties. Christina may consult over the phone but the best success has been from patients that travel to The Indigo Center for a three day treatment. In-person treatments are necessary because The Indigo Center has the equipment and space required to create the ideal atmosphere for patients as they are diagnosed and may begin their healing process in the Center's relaxing environment. Have a friend or family member drive you to the treatment because you will leave an acupuncture session feeling a bit of euphoria and possibly a little "high." I had this reaction my first visit and it was explained that is due to the massive release of blocked energy. I promise that you will not be disappointed. If you are needle phobic, no worries...you cannot feel the needles on entry, during the treatment or when they are removed. REMEMBER...your acupuncturist should have an LAc. or a Dipl. Ac. after their name. License of Acupuncture or Diplomat of Acupuncture which is equivalent to what would be considered a Master of Acupuncture. This means that they have completed two years of school in conventional medicine, a full four years of Oriental Medicine and passed the National Board of Oriental Medicine, which is an extraordinarily difficult achievement. They know their stuff. Sorry for the novel, but BEST WISHES IN YOUR HEALING!! Let me know how you are! JBenson
